Process

A clear, steady path from first conversation to real change.

Working with a consultant should lower your stress, not add to it. Our process is structured but flexible, so you always know what’s happening and why.

1. Discovery Call – A no‑pressure conversation to understand your business, your role as the owner, and what you want to change or protect.

2. Assessment – A structured review of your current strategy, operations, finances, and team. We surface what’s working, what’s fragile, and where small changes can make a big difference.

3. Strategy & Roadmap – Together, we define a clear set of priorities and a practical timeline. You’ll know what we’re working on, in what order, and how we’ll measure progress.

4. Implementation Support – We stay close as you and your team make changes: designing processes, preparing communications, and troubleshooting real‑world challenges.

5. Ongoing Accountability – Regular check‑ins keep projects moving and give you a space to think, reflect, and adjust. You stay out of the weeds and focused on leading.

Engagements are tailored to your pace—ranging from short, focused projects to longer‑term advisory support.

Resources & FAQ

Questions about working with a coach or consultant?

You don’t have to have everything “ready” before reaching out. Most owners start with a general sense that things could run better—we’ll help you turn that into a clear plan.

Small Business Health Checklist

A practical, one‑page guide to assessing the health of your strategy, operations, finances, and team.

What’s the difference between coaching and consulting in your work?

In practice, most engagements include both. Consulting focuses on analyzing your business, recommending changes, and helping design new systems or strategies. Coaching focuses on you as the owner or leader—your decisions, your communication, and your ability to follow through. Valcrest combines both so the plan makes sense on paper and you feel confident leading it in real life.

How do you approach pricing?

Pricing is transparent and scoped to the size and complexity of your business. After our discovery call and initial understanding of your needs, you’ll receive a clear proposal outlining the recommended approach, estimated duration, and a fixed or retainer‑based fee. There are no surprise add‑ons—any changes are discussed and agreed on in advance.

How long do engagements usually last?

Many focused projects run for 8–16 weeks, especially when we are targeting a specific area such as operations or financial clarity. Broader strategy and leadership work often continues for 6–12 months through an ongoing advisory or coaching relationship. We’ll align the length with your goals and capacity before we begin.

Do you work virtually, in person, or both?

Most work is done virtually through video calls and shared documents, which keeps things efficient and accessible for busy owners. When it adds value—such as for workshops, strategy sessions, or onsite observations—we can plan in‑person days as part of your engagement.

What if I’m not sure exactly what I need yet?

That’s common. The discovery call is designed to help you sort through what you’re feeling (overwhelm, frustration, uncertainty) and connect it to specific business challenges. From there, we can propose a starting point that’s right‑sized and focused.

Get Started

Schedule a conversation about your business.

The first step is a focused, 45–60 minute consultation. We’ll talk through what’s working, what feels heavy, and what “good business” would look like for you in the next 12–24 months.

You’ll leave with a clearer view of your options—whether we decide to work together or not.
